Summer Fun - Day 5

Make an accent piece for a doll.

Earlier this summer our G'pa made us some requested doll items.

He had a little extra wood, so he made the little table in this photo.

It was unfinished, so we could do anything with it --

It makes a perfect little table for Josephina.

Josephina was a birthday gift last autumn.

Today we took her out of her box and started to set up her room.

She is perfect!

We added Logan to our collection,

and so we needed some fun outfits for him.

Once we set up our hamster cage, 

we decided we needed some books about Hamsters.

We made these from favorite covers.

We'll be adding these to the 'class library' --

Summer Fun -- Day 2 [Christmas in July]

We are prepping some December doll fun this month.

Christmas in July!

Now is a great time to start gathering fun items for the AG gals.

I actually gather things all year long, 

but summer is a great time to make a plan and get things organized.

In 2013 I made a doll advent for the youngest doll lover in our family.

Since then, it has become a fun project for me -- all year I look for little items for the dolls.

Those items get wrapped and made into a doll advent calendar at the end of November.

The three photos below are the 2014 calendar.

I did something similar in 2015.

We love mini doll food, 

so a lot of the items were Etsy purchases from our favorite food shoppes.

In 2015 I used little brown bags numbered 1-24 to hold each item.

This is the calendar from 2016.

 Christmas food items & Christmas clothing seemed to be the theme last year.

We are preparing for our 2017 advent this week!

Summer Fun -- Day 1

We are setting up our hamster set today, and working on a classroom in the doll room.

{I'll show photos soon.}

The new hamster set will be a neat addition to our class.

This will be perfect for the classroom.

The book -- 'Caring For Your Pet Hamster' is a fun idea.

I wish the hamster looked more like a hamster --

{It kind of looks like a baby possum -- minus the tail.}

The cage {including the water feeder and food} will be great.

The little wheel is adorable.

{The sawdust at the bottom of the cage is also a little bit of a disappointment -- 

it is hard for the wheel to stand on the uneven floor texture.}
